Entrepreneur Jeff Bezos, known at Amazon.com's online retailer, is demonstrating a spacecraft concept designed by his company Blue Origins and designed for showers. The working name of the ship is Blue Moon.
The purpose of the ship is to deliver humans and equipment to the moon in 2024. It is reusable and can carry scientific instruments and rovers as well as moon moons. There is also a sealed module for people. The weight of the ship will be about 30 tons at take-off, full fuel volume, and will drop to about 3500 kg. at landfall.
The initial target is to land in the region of the south lunar pole where large ice deposits are expected. It can produce hydrogen and oxygen, which can then be used as propellant for spacecraft on future missions to the solar system.
