The idea of holding events (photo exhibitions, meetings, etc.) in exotic countries appeared long ago, before the 200-day trip to Latin America, but then it crashed against the "reinforced concrete" wall of bureaucracy. Ten years later, in 2025, fortune smiled a little: the project, approved by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, was assessed by Rossotrudnichestvo.

A long trip to Africa was planned, where a series of events were planned, introducing the natives to Russian culture (using one of its representatives as an example), while the author of the project studied the lifestyle of the natives in order to convey information to his compatriots upon his return. The result was six cultural events in the countries of the black continent and, (for now) one in his homeland. This is what we will talk about…

On July 17, 2025, in the main hall of the Crimean Ethnographic Museum, located on Pushkin Street in the central part of Simferopol, a creative meeting of Victor Pinchuk was held, organized based on the results of the next, fifth trip to Africa, which lasted 120 days and included the following countries: Egypt, Morocco, Western Sahara, Mauritania, Tunisia. The event (like last year's) was timed to coincide with the professional holiday "Ethnographer's Day", introduced in honor of the birth date of the great Russian scientist and traveler N. N. Miklouho-Maclay.

«Traditions of the Peoples of Morocco and Mauritania is an illustrated story about what was seen during a four-month trip to Africa, carried out from January to May 2025. This is part of a large-scale author's project, including photo exhibitions and creative meetings held on the African continent (six in total, four of which were prepared with the assistance of Rossotrudnichestvo), as well as events scheduled to be held in the Russian Federation. The project is aimed at familiarizing the natives with Russian culture, and compatriots with the way of life of the peoples of Africa.

For clarity, the lecturer dressed in national Moroccan clothing (purchased in Rabat specifically for this purpose), which is called galabeya, and is a long shirt with a collar decorated with a traditional pattern (by the way, traditional clothing was also used in Mauritania, which can be seen from the self-portrait on the poster). In addition, some items brought from Africa were demonstrated: Mauritanian rosaries and Tunisian metal tea utensils. Visitors learned many interesting things about the inhabitants of the Maghreb; as an addition to what was said, the traveler told about his adventures: an overnight stay in a Cairo cemetery; a long stay in an abandoned unfinished building towering in the center of Nouakchott; how he visited the natives in the city of Atar and much more...

The past event marked the beginning of the second part of the project and, overall, it can be characterized positively.
